WHAT TO KNOW
  • The Immaculata women's basketball team (23-3, 14-0 AEC) hosts Marywood University on Saturday in the Atlantic East Conference Championship Game at Alumnae Hall.
  • The Mighty Macs advanced to Saturday's Championship after defeating Centenary 68-59 in their AEC Semifinal on Thursday at Alumnae Hall.
  • Marywood (14-12, 8-6 AEC) advanced to Saturday's Championship after defeating #2 seed Marymount 73-71 in their AEC Semifinal on Thursday in Arlington, Va.
  • The game will mark the final meeting between Immaculata and Marywood as Atlantic East Conference members, with Marywood leaving the AEC after the season.
 
THE SERIES
  • Saturday's game marks the 34th all-time meeting between the two programs, a rivalry that dates to 1984, with Immaculata holding a 20-13 advantage in the series.
  • This will be the fourth time the two programs have met in postseason play.
  • On February 23, 2011, Immaculata defeated Marywood 78-64 at Marywood in the CSAC Semifinals to advance to the CSAC Championship. Leah Kuczynski registered a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Current Immaculata Assistant Coach Chelsea Turgeon (McTigue) scored, and former Immaculata Head Coach Chrissy Rhine (Esbensen) led all scorers with 17 points each.
  • On February 24, 2020, Immaculata fell to Marywood 79-77 in double overtime in the AEC Tournament First Round at Alumnae Hall. Theresa Kearney scored 22 points, and Annie Kahoka and Brielle Rigo scored 12 points for the Mighty Macs.
  • On February 26, 2025, Immaculata defeated Marywood 69-48 at Alumnae Hall in the AEC Semifinals to advance to the AEC Championship Game. Reese Mullins led Immaculata with 16 points, Carly Coleman had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, Olivia Ettorre scored 11 points, and Riley Cassidy scored 10 points for the Mighty Macs.
 
MIGHTY MAC NOTES
  • Carly Coleman led Immaculata, averaging 17.1 points per game, 10.8 rebounds per game, with 116 assists, and 73 steals. She had 17 double-doubles and two triple-doubles this season. Coleman was named AEC Defensive Player of the Week six times and AEC Player of the Week three times this season. Coleman pulled down her 500th career rebound in the win at Pratt on February 21.
  • Abby Grillo had an outstanding rookie season for Immaculata, averaging 12.9 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game. Grillo added 59 assists, 47 steals, and 18 blocked shots. She scored a season-high 26 points in her first collegiate game against Moravian. She recorded a double-double in Immaculata's semifinal win over Centenary with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
  • Olivia Ettorre averaged 12.5 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game. She added 52 assists, 40 steals, and 17 blocked shots.  Ettorre scored in double figures in 14 games this season and had a career-high 23 points as Misericordia on December 6. Ettorre scored nine points in Thursday's semifinal win over Centenary.
  • Riley Cassidy is averaging 8.3 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game. She added 46 assists and 17 steals. Cassidy scored in double figures in 11 games and had a career-high 27 points against Neumann on January 31. She led Immaculata in scoring with 16 points, hitting four three-pointers in Thursday's semifinal win over Centenary.
  • Meg Robbins started in all 26 games for Immaculata, averaging 6.8 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game.  Robbins added 26 assists, 24 steals, and 29 blocked shots. Robbins scored a career-high 17 points in the win at Gwynedd Mercy on February 7. Robbins scored five points, with three rebounds and two blocked shots in the semifinal win over Centenary on Thursday.
  • Sabrina Little appeared in all 26 games for Immaculata, starting in two. Little averaged 6.2 points per game and 2.1 rebounds per game. She added 41 assists and 35 steals off the bench. She scored a season-high 18 points vs Gwynedd Mercy on January 10 and scored seven points in Thursday's semifinal win over Centenary.
  • Immaculata will look for additional support off the bench from Keira Benoit, Julia Pohl, and Sofia Kouridakis.
  • Immaculata is scoring 74.1 points per game and is allowing 57.2 points per game.
  • Immaculata is shooting 41.8% from the field, 31.8% from three-point range, and is shooting 70.9% from the free-throw line.
 
SCOUTING MARYWOOD
  • Marywood to the Championship Game, weathering a fourth-quarter surge from Marymount to earn a 73-71 victory at the Converse Family Fieldhouse at Marymount.
  • Senior guard Megan Cavoli leads Marywood's offense, averaging 12.1 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game. Cavoli scored a season-high 23 points in their semifinal win at Marymount on Thursday.
  • Junior guard Anyah Ortiz averages 10.4 points per game and six rebounds per game. She also leads the Pacers in steals with 59. Ortiz scored a season-high 26 points in their semifinal win at Marymount.
  • Graduate forward Olivia Ciullo is averaging 10.4 points per game, and 5.3 rebounds per game. Ciullo scored six points in Thursday's semifinal win over Marymount.
  • Marywood is scoring 62.7 points per game and is allowing 64.3 points per game.
  • They are shooting 36.9% from the field, 28.9% from three-point range, and are shooting 69.8% from the free-throw line.
