LANACASTER, Pa.- The Atlantic East Conference announced their weekly women's flag football awards on Monday afternoon, and Immaculata swept the awards winning player of the week and defensive player of the week.
Sydney Butcher (Coatesville, Pa. / Coatesville) was named Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week. Butcher was 11-18 passing, for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Butcher had 12 rushes for 80 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns in Immaculata's win over Holy Family.
Rory Watson (Allentown, Pa. / Salisbury) was named Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Watson had a combined 11 tackles, with one interception, two sacks, and three pass breakups over two games for Immaculata. Watson had five tackles, two sacks, an interception, and a pass breakup in the game vs Eastern on Thursday. She had six total tackles, two pass breakups in the win over Holy Family on Thursday.
With their tri-match split on Thursday, Immaculata clinched a spot in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament to be played on Saturday, April 26
th at Marymount. Despite starting the season 0-3, the Immaculata flag football team went 5-1 in their last six conference games to finish 6-6 in Atlantic East Conference play to earn the fourth seed in the AEC Tournament. Immaculata will face the number one see Marymount in the semifinals at 4:30 p.m.
