THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata softball team returns to action this afternoon when they visit Widener University for a doubleheader at 2:30 p.m.
  • Immaculata (10-14, 3-1 AEC) enters Thursday's game after earning the split in their AEC doubleheader with Neumann last Saturday winning game two 10-2 in five innings.
  • Widener (8-17, 1-7 MAC CW) enters Thursday after dropping a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader to York College on the road on Wednesday losing each game 4-0.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Immaculata and Widener are meeting for the 21st and 22nd time in their series that began in 2007.
  • Immaculata is 4-16 all-time vs Widener.
 
LAST MEETING
  • Immaculata and Widener split their doubleheader on April 23, 2024, at Immaculata with the Mighty Macs winning game one 8-6, and the Pride taking game two 13-2.
  • Carlee Karcher went 2-3 with a home run, and three RBIs, and Payton McGowan was 2-4 with two RBIs in game one. Riece Onorato earned the complete game win, with four strikeouts.

  • Senior first base Sam McCarthy is hitting .318 (14-44) with eight runs scored, and three RBIs.
  • Senior pitcher/utility Caitlyn Katchur is hitting .306 (19-62) with 15 runs scored, and three RBIs. In the circle she is 4-6 with a 4.57 ERA. She has appeared in 12 games starting 10. She has 30 strikeouts in 49 innings pitched.
  • First-year pitcher Bella Smith is 2-3 with a 6.18 ERA. She has appeared in 11 games with four starts. In 28.1 innings pitched, she has 22 strikeouts.
 
WEEKLY HONORS
  • Jess Oldham was named to the AEC Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. Oldham hit a combined 8-16 (.500) with four runs scored, three doubles, and five RBIs over four games. Oldham was 3-4, with two runs scored and two RBIs in game two of their doubleheader on Thursday vs Haverford. She was a combined 4-8, with two doubles, two runs scored, and three RBIs in their doubleheader with Neumann on Saturday. Oldham had the walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the fifth to give Immaculata the 10-2 win in game two of the doubleheader. Oldham knocked in her 100th career RBI in game one of the doubleheader on Saturday.
