THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata returns to the IU Softball Field for their 2025 home opener on Tuesday when they take on Penn State Abington in a doubleheader.
  • Immaculata enters Tuesday's game after going 4-2 in the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina winning their final three games.
  • Penn State Abington enters Tuesday's games after going 3-3 in the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic. Abington won their final two games of the week.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Immaculata and Penn State Abington will be playing their fifth and sixth games in their series that began in 2011.
  • Immaculata is 3-1 all-time vs Penn State Abington.
 
LAST MEETING

  • Rylee Martin had three RBIs and had a walk-off two run single in the bottom of the seventh inning in the win over Lycoming on March 13th at the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic.
  • Bryele Anthony went 6-19 (.316) with six runs scored, with two RBIs. Anthony was 8-8 in stolen base attempts.
  • Riece Onorato went 1-1 in her two starts, pitching 12 innings, allowing 12 hits, only two earned runs, and had 13 strikeouts. Onorato had 10 strikeouts in her win over Franciscan and helped her own cause at bat, going 2-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs in the game.
  • Emma Mercadante went 2-0 in her two starts with wins over Kenyon and Dickinson. In three total appearances she pitched 14.2 innings allowing six earned runs and had eight strikeouts.
  • Nadia Bhuiyan had two appearances at the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic earning a win, and a save. Bhuiyan earned the save pitching 1.2 innings of scoreless relief against Kenyon and earned the complete game win over Lycoming on March 13th allowing nine hits, only two earned runs, and had two strikeouts.
 
SCOUTING PENN STATE ABINGTON
  • Junior utility player Emily Foxhill leads PSU Abington hitting .429 (6-14) with two runs scored and one RBI. She is 2-2 in stolen base attempts.
  • Senior outfielder Hailey Gamble is batting .400 (6-15) with two runs scored, and five RBIs.
  • Sophomore catcher Marlena Hacker is hitting .368 (7-19) with five runs scored, and two RBIs. She is 2-3 in stolen base attempts.
  • Senior pitcher Gretchen Yanss is 2-1 this season with a 3.26 ERA. Yanss has pitched 19.1 innings, allowing 23 hits, nine earned runs, and has 15 strikeouts.
  • Freshman pitcher Jess Dinardo is 1-1 this season, pitching 8.2 innings, allowing 10 hits, five earned runs, with nine strikeouts.
 
WEEKLY HONORS
  • Immaculata fifth-years Jess Oldham and Riece Onorato were both named to the Atlantic East Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon for their performances during the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Immaculata softball team will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Wilkes University for a doubleheader at the IU Softball Field at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.
