THE STORYLINE

The Immaculata men's volleyball team (4-1) will be back in action looking to continue their best start in program history on Friday when they host Neumann University at Alumnae Hall at 7 p.m.
Immaculata enters Friday's match after defeating Bryn Athyn 3-1 (14-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-12) on Wednesday evening at Bryn Athyn.
Neumann (2-1, 0-0 UEC) enters Friday's match after falling to Widener 3-0 (26-28, 18-25, and 15-17) on Tuesday evening. Neumann will play at Elizabethtown on Thursday evening.

SERIES HISTORY

Immaculata and Neumann are meeting for the ninth time in their series that began in 2019.

Josh McGurl set an IU program record for service aces in one match on Wednesday with seven service aces, along with 10 kills, and 10 digs. McGurl led Immaculata with 17 kills vs Cairn.
Noah Zunski had a team-high 11 kills in Wednesday's match, one service ace, and nine digs. He had 13 kills, three service aces, six digs, and three total blocks.
Joe Martell distributed 25 assists, with one kill, one service ace, one total block, and three digs on Wednesday. Martell broke his own IU record for assists in one match with 42 assists vs Cairn on Tuesday.
Jordan Brown had four kills, one service ace, two total blocks, and one dig at Bryn Athyn.

SCOUTING NEUMANN

Neumann opened their season on Saturday, February 1^st with a tri-match sweep at Hood College. Neumann came back from one set down to defeat the host Hood 3-2 (25-17, 13-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-7). They swept Bryn Athyn 3-0 (14-25, 20-25, 10-25) in their second match.
Neumann fell to Widener 3-0 (26-28, 18-25, 17-25) on Tuesday evening.
Sophomore outside hitter Trey Edmonds leads Neumann with 40 kills averaging 3.64 kills per set.
Junior middle hitter Veryl Burns has 26 kills averaging 2.36 kills per set and has three service aces.
Senior setter Christian Johnson has a team-high 62 assists averaging 5.64 assists per set.
Sophomore libero Christian DeMarco has a team-high 29 digs and is averaging 2.9 digs per set.

NEW PROGRAM RECORDS

Joe Martell broke his own IU Program record for assists in a single match with 42 assists on Tuesday vs. Cairn. Martell had previously set the record of 40 assists at Neumann on March 10, 2022.
Josh McGurl set an IU Program Record for service aces in a single match with seven on Wednesday at Bryn Athyn. The previous record was five set by John Bohrer at Rosemont on February 16, 2022, and was tied by Joe Martell on Tuesday vs Cairn.
