Men's Volleyball Hosts Cairn on Tuesday and Visits Bryn Athyn on Wednesday to Open Busy Week

The Immaculata men's volleyball team (2-1) returns to action hosting Cairn University on Tuesday and visiting Bryn Athyn on Wednesday.
Immaculata enters this week after going 2-1 in their first week, earning victories over Bryn Athyn and Gallaudet, and falling to a strong Randolph-Macon squad.
Cairn (0-1, 0-0 UEC) enters Tuesday's match after falling to Arcadia 3-0 (18-25, 23-25, 19-25) on January 30^th.
Bryn Athyn (3-5, 0-0 UEC) enters Wednesday's match after sweeping Yeshiva in doubleheader on Sunday winning both matches 3-0.

SERIES HISTORY

Immaculata and Cairn are meeting for the fourth time in their series that began in 2019. Immaculata is 0-3 all-time vs Cairn.

SCOUTING CAIRN

Sophomore outside hitter Sam Poirier led the Highlanders with 13 kills in their match with Arcadia.
Junior middle hitter David Larbi had nine kills vs Arcadia.
Junior setter Josh Adler had 23 assists, and nine digs vs Arcadia.
Cairn averaged 10.7 kill per set, and Aradia averaged 11.7 kills per set.

SCOUTING BRYN ATHYN

Freshman middle hitter Miles Shepard leads Bryn Athyn with 94 kills averaging 3.76 kills per set. He had 15 kills in last week's match at Immaculata.
Sophomore outside hitter Bryan Choute has 68 kills averaging 3.4 kills per set. He had 14 kills in last week's match at Immaculata.
Senior setter Laban Genzlinger has 123 assists averaging 5.13 assists per set, he had a season high 28 assists vs Valley Forge on 1/29.
Bryn Athyn is averaging 9 kills per set, and their opponents are averaging 9.2 kills per set.

HONORS

Joe Martell has named the Mighty Mac of the Week by the Immaculata office of sports information and athletic communications.
Martell, the setter and team captain, had seven kills, 78 assists, five service aces, 17 digs, and five total blocks in Immaculata's three matches this week as the Mighty Macs won two out of three. Martell handed out 39 assists in Immaculata's opening night win over Bryn Athyn on January 28th. In the first match of Saturday's tri-match vs Randolph-Macon at Gallaudet, Martell registered his 1,500th career assist. He is the program's all-time leader in assists. He had 19 assists vs Randolph Macon and had 20 assists in the win over Gallaudet.
