Men's Basketball Ready for 2025-26 Season under New Leadership

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata men's basketball is about to tip off the 2025-26 season on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Mighty Macs will be led by new head coach Kyle Stramara.

Stramara comes to Immaculata after spending six seasons at Eastern. He served as an assistant coach before being promoted to associate head coach.

Stramara said he knew Immaculata had something special, and he is "blessed to be that guy [to lead the team]."

"In the short term, I want to build a solid foundation and establish our core values," he said. "The future of this program lies in the hands of how we conduct ourselves on a day-to-day basis.  Wins will follow if we can bring maximum effort and seek accountability daily… As for the future?  Only time will tell as we build this program brick-by-brick."

Preseason Overview

Immaculata men's basketball begin the new campaign on Saturday, Nov. 8 for the Wild Goose Classic at Washington College. They will face Sarah Lawrence on Saturday before taking on the host on Sunday. The Mighty Macs' home opener is on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. against Moravian. The Mighty Macs will host Haverford and Rutgers-Camden before November closes will an exhibition at Division II institution West Chester.

December has two home games and two road games. The home games are first, with Notre Dame (Md.) and Widener visiting Alumnae Hall. Immaculata will be off to Elizabethtown and Delaware Valley around the holidays.

Following the break, Immaculata welcomes McDaniel in early January for the final non-conference game of the season. Wednesday, Jan. 7 is the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) opener, with the Mighty Macs taking a short trip to Neumann. Neumann was last year's conference champion. January will have eight games for Immaculata, five of which are at home. On Jan. 14, Saint Elizabeth will come to Immaculata for the first time as a member of the AEC. The month ends with a home game with Neumann.

February kicks off at Saint Elizabeth before segueing to Gwynedd Mercy. The regular season ends on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Pratt.

Conference playoffs go from Feb. 23-28.

Roster Check

Immaculata has nine players returning from last season, including Robbie Conyer, Domenic Vacchiano, Samuel Jankowski, Jayden Williams, Mandon Seapoe, Idan Zuker, Jalen Flowers, Kevin Telesford, and Dylan Crews.

Stramara said that the returners have the experience that is necessary for the team's goals. He added that there is excitement for the newcomers as well.

"Both Bowen Gugger and Christian Chambers have been getting the attention of our staff as impact players," Stramara said. "We are also really excited about what Marquis [Peoples Jr.], Dez [Nicholson], Jeremiah [Alexander], and Duce [Jackson] are bringing daily to our program."

The team captains will be Crews, Seapoe, and Vacchiano. Stramara said accountability is what made them stand out, and it also reflects on the team.

"There is one common theme across the board, and that is their willingness to hold their teammates accountable," Stramara said. "I have been even more impressed with each individual player's willingness and desire to be held accountable. The culture is in a fantastic place, and the foundation for this program's future is definitely solid."

Welcome to the Team

The Mighty Macs are introducing five freshmen to the team, in addition to a handful of transfers.

The freshmen are Nasir Logan, Baptiste Tard, Sir Guy Epps Jr., Alexander, and Nick Haggarty. The transfers are Chambers (Richard Bland College), Gugger (Juniata College), Peoples Jr. (DeSales University), Nicholson (Notre Dame of Maryland), and Jackson (Bloomsburg University).

Besides new players, the coaching staff has changed too. Tyler Timson and Josh Grant will be Stramara's two assistant coaches.

Season Outlook

Stramara said despite some new players and coaches on the team, the hunger and passion for success is evident.

"The energy in the gym has been electric," Stramara said. "Our guys are playing with a lot of passion, and you can tell they are hungry to bounce back from last season. There have been a lot of new faces in the locker room, but everyone is meshing together nicely. The chemistry off the court is evident when you see us on the court."
