CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Immaculata men's basketball was not able to get the sweep in the Wild Goose Classic on Sunday, falling to the Washington College Shoremen 85-73.
The Mighty Macs are 1-1 for the season. Their first AEC game will be on Wednesday, Jan. 7 versus Neumann.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST WASHINGTON COLLEGE
- The Shoremen scored the first bucket of the game before Mandon Seapoe went on a personal 4-0 run. Washington College gradually built a lead, but the Mighty Macs stayed close behind with a few three-pointers. A Domenic Vacchiano jumper, assisted by Nasir Logan, cut the deficit to six with 36 seconds left in the half. Washington College led 45-39 going into the locker room.
- The two sides traded shots in the opening part of the second half, as Immaculata tried to wrestle the lead away from the home team. Jalen Flowers converted two three-pointers in a stretch of about four-and-a-half minutes. Despite a good effort by the Mighty Macs, the Shoremen controlled their advantage throughout the half. Washington College won 85-73.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Vacchiano led the team with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
- Seapoe had a career-high seven steals on Sunday, after logging four on Saturday against Sarah Lawrence.
- Flowers posted a team-best three triples.
