Women's Basketball Set for Monday Night Matchup at Alvernia

WHAT TO KNOW
  • The Immaculata women's basketball team (3-2) returns to action on Monday evening when they travel to Reading to play at Alvernia.
  • Immaculata enters Monday's game following a runner-up appearance in the Governor's Challenge Tournament in Salisbury, Maryland. Immaculata defeated Kean 72-50 in the opening round and fell to Salisbury 66-64 in the finals on a buzzer beating shot.
  • Alvernia (3-2) enters Monday's game after falling at McDaniel 77-37 on November 25. Alvernia has won over Notre Dame of Md., Penn State Brandywine, and Penn State Harrisburg this season.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Immaculata and Alvernia are meeting for the 11th time in their series that began in 2006.

  • Abby Grillo has had a strong start to her collegiate career averaging 15.4 points per game. Grillo has only failed to reach double figures in scoring in one game. She scored 15 points vs Salisbury in the Governor's Challenge Finals. She is currently second in the team with 11 steals.
  • Meg Robbins is averaging seven points per game, and 4.4 rebounds per game this season. Robbins has also added 10 assists, and six steals.
  • Riley Cassidy averages five points per game, and three rebounds per game. She has added seven assists and three steals.
  • Sabrina Little is averaging four points per game off the bench. She has added three assists, and five steals.
  • Julia Pohl has provided solid play off the bench for Immaculata. Pohl registered her first career double-double vs Arcadia scoring 10 points and adding 12 rebounds.

  • Fifth year forward Jennah DeGout leads Alvernia's offense averaging 11.8 points per game and nine rebounds per game. She scored a season-high 13 points vs Ursinus on November 18.
  • Senior forward Taryn Woodson is averaging 10.6 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game. She scored a season-high 16 points vs Ursinus on November 18.
  • Sophomore guard Kyla Reed is averaging six points per game. She scored a season-high of 12 points vs PSU-Harrisburg on November 21.
  • Sophomore guard Olivia Burke has four blocked shots, and a team high of seven steals.
  • As a team Alvernia is: Shooting 39.2% from the field, 25.3% from three-point range, and are shooting 63.3% from the stripe, and are averaging 60.2 points per game while their opponents average 55.2 points per game.
 
WEEKLY HONORS
  • Carly Coleman was named Atlantic East Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, November 24. Coleman amassed 57 points, 36 rebounds, 15 assists, and 12 steals over the trio of contests for the Mighty Macs during the week ending November 23rd.
  • Coleman's dominant three-game stretch displayed her leadership and impact on both ends of the court for the Mighty Macs.
