Women's Basketball Hits the Road to Face Marywood on Wednesday

THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata women's basketball team (14-3, 4-0 AEC) will be back in action on Wednesday, January 22nd when they travel to play at Marywood University in an AEC game.
  • Immaculata enters Wednesday's game after defeating Centenary 89-74 on Saturday for their seventh consecutive win. Their non-conference game vs CCNY was postponed due to the weather.
  • Marywood (10-8, 1-2 AEC) enters Wednesday's game after falling at Marymount 75-48 on Saturday.
 
THE SERIES HISTORY
  • Immaculata and Marywood are meeting for the 29th time in their series that began back in 1984.
  • Immaculata is 15-13 all-time vs Marywood.
 
LAST MEETING
  • Immaculata defeated Marywood 60-53 in their last meeting on January 31, 2024, at Alumnae Hall.
  • Reese Mullins scored 20 points, and Tessa Liberatoscioli had a double-double scoring 11 points, with 12 rebounds, and had five steals.
 
MIGHTY MAC NOTES
  • Reese Mullins registered her sixth double-double of the season scoring 24 points, with 10 rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals vs Centenary. Mullins was a plus 17 on Saturday. Mullins currently sits third in the AEC averaging 17.5 PPG.
  • Abigail Boyer scored in double figures for a third straight game on Saturday, scoring 15 points, with five rebounds, seven assists, three steals. She was a plus 11 for the game.
  • Tessa Liberatoscioli scored 14 points, with seven rebounds, two assists, one blocked shot, and two steals on Saturday. In addition to her blocked shots and steals, Liberatoscioli tipped multiple passes, and helped disrupt the Cyclones offense.
  • Riley Cassidy had another strong game off the bench for Immaculata on Saturday. She scored 11 points shooting 4-6 from the field, and 2-4 from behind the arc.
  • Meg Robbins scored 10 points, with seven rebounds, and two blocked shots on Saturday.
  • Alyssa Long was a key factor in Immaculata's win over Centenary. Long scored six points, with one rebound, two assists, and one steal. Long again provided a spark off the bench and was a plus 18 in the game.
  • Carly Coleman also played a significant role in Immaculata's win on Saturday. Coleman pulled down 10 rebounds, including six defensive rebounds, and was a plus 11 for the game. Coleman helped limit Centenary's opportunities, and helped break the Cyclones press carrying the ball up the court.
 
SCOUTING MARYWOOD
  • Senior guard Olivia Ciullo leads Marywood's offense averaging 13.6 PPG and 8.6 RPG. She scored a season-high 24 points vs Bard on 11/9.
  • Senior guard Rachel McDonald is averaging 9.2 PPG and has a team-high 25 steals. She scored a season-high 25 points vs Rosemont on 12/14.
  • Junior guard Megan Cavoli is averaging 8.4 PPG, and 3.2 RPG. She scored a season-high 18 points vs Juniata on 11/16.
  • As a team the Pacers are shooting 36.5% from the field, 26.3% from behind the arc, and are shooting 66.8% from the stripe.
  • Marywood is averaging 59.7 PPG, and their opponents are averaging 61.1% PPG.
 
BOYER CAN BOMB
  • Abigail Boyer hit a half court buzzer beating shot to end the first quarter on Saturday. Boyer pulled down a rebound of a missed shot with 0:04.5 seconds remaining, dribbled the ball up, shot from half court to beat the buzzer. The shot banked off the backboard and went in. This was Boyer's second time in her career hitting a half court buzzer beater. Boyer did this last season, when her half-court shot ended the third quarter in Immaculata's win over Gwynedd Mercy on February 7, 2024, at Alumnae Hall.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Immaculata women's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday, February 1st when they will visit Marymount University (5-11, 2-2 AEC) for an Atlantic East Conference game at 7 p.m.
