GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa.- The Immaculata University women's track and field team concluded their 2024 outdoor season in day two of the Atlantic East Conference Championships. The Mighty Macs finished in fifth place in the team standings earning 35 points. The Macs earned three medals in events throughout the weekend.
In the finals of the 100-meter dash,
Jayla Gross finished sixth with a time of 13:58.
In the finals of the 200-meter dash,
Jayla Gross finished seventh with a time of 27.96, and
Kimberly Alvarez finished eighth with a time of 29.01.
In the 400-meter run,
Mary Steinbicker finished fourth with a time of 1:02.14.
Olivia Morris finished fifth with a personal best time of 1:08.26, and
Faith Gillin finished sixth with a time of 1:16.23.
In the 800-meter run,
Grace Scheidel finished tenth with a time of 2:53.13.
Samantha Rivera finished 13
th with a time of 3:05.16, and
Emily McGonigle finished fifteenth with a time of 3:26.17.
In the 1500-meter run,
Emily McGonigle finished 13
th with a time of 6:44.02.
In the 4 x 100-meter Relay, the team of
Kimberly Alvarez,
Peyton Hays,
Jayla Gross, and
Mary Steinbicker won the silver medal finishing second place with a time of 54.23.
In the 4 x 400- meter Relay, the team of
Mary Steinbicker,
Olivia Morris,
Kimberly Alvarez, and
Jayla Gross finished fourth with a time of 4:25.74.
Overall, the Mighty Macs earned three medals during the conference championships.
Maggie Friend earned a silver medal, and
Emily Ettien earned a bronze medal in the Javelin. The 4 X 100-meter relay team of
Kimberly Alvarez,
Peyton Hays,
Jayla Gross, and
Mary Steinbicker won the silver medal.
