Women's Basketball Hosts Misericordia on Thursday Afternoon

THE STORYLINE 

  • The Immaculata women's basketball team (9-3) welcomes Misericordia University to Alumnae Hall on Thursday afternoon. 

  • The Immaculata women's basketball team returns from the Holiday break. Prior to the break, Immaculata defeated St. Mary's College of Maryland and Delaware Valley University in their final games before the break. This will be Immaculata's final non-conference tune up before opening Atlantic East Conference play on Saturday. 

  • Misericordia (2-7) returns from break after falling to Susquehanna 72-46 on the road in their last game on December 17. The Cougars have dropped their last three games. 

THE SERIES HISTORY 

  • Immaculata and Misericordia are meeting for the fifth time in their series that began back in 2007. 

  • Immaculata is 0-4 all-time vs Misericordia. 

LAST MEETING 

  • Immaculata fell to Misericordia 74-54 at Misericordia in their last meeting on December 4, 2019. 

  • Jordan Rook led Immaculata with 13 points. Current Immaculata assistant coach Theresa Kearney registered a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Mighty Macs. 

MIGHTY MAC NOTES 

  • Reese Mullins earned Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week honors on December 23, after scoring 19 points in each of the Mighty Macs wins vs St. Mary's College of Md. and Delaware Valley. Mullins scored a combined 38 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, one blocked shot, and one steal in the Mighty Macs two wins.  

  • Carly Coleman was named to the Atlantic East Conference Weekly Honor Roll on December 23rd. Coleman had a combined 19 rebounds, including 10 defensive rebounds, one blocked shot, and six steals, to go along with scoring 21 points and adding seven assists over two games, helping lead Immaculata to a pair of wins. On December 17th, Coleman registered her third double-double of the season with 11 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and four steals in the win over St. Mary's College of Maryland. On December 19th, she had eight rebounds, one blocked shot, and two steals to go along with scoring 10 points in the win over Delaware Valley. 

  • Tessa Liberatoscioli scored 13 points, with four rebounds, three assists, one blocked shot, and three steals vs Delaware Valley on December 19.  

  • Olivia Ettorre scored a combined 25 points, with three rebounds, nine assists, and six steals in Immaculata's last two games. Ettorre scored a career-high 15 points vs St. Mary's on December 17th.  

  • Abigail Boyer scored 14 points, with six rebounds, six assists, and two steals vs St. Mary's of Md. on December 17th. This was the fourth time Boyer has scored in double figures this season. 

  • Riley Cassidy came off the bench to score six points, with four rebounds, and three assists in the win over Delaware Valley on December 19th. She also scores six points vs St. Mary's College of Md. on December 17th. 

  • Meg Robbins scored a combined 15 points, with six rebounds, and two blocked shots over the Mighty Macs last two games. She scored nine points vs St. Mary's of Md. on December 17th. 

  • Alyssa Long continues to provide strong defensive play and veteran leadership off the bench for Immaculata. Long had one point, two rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots, and two steals in the win over Delaware Valley. She had three points, two rebounds, four assists, one blocked shot and had one steal vs St. Mary's of Md on December 17th. 

SCOUTING MISERICORDIA 

  • Senior guard Jocelyn Grosch leads Misericordia averaging 9.8 PPG, and 6.3 RPG. Grosch scored a season-high 18 points vs Muhlenberg on December 3rd.  

  • First-year guard Ava Cirigliano is averaging 7.7 PPG and a team-high 6.7 RPG. Cirigliano scored a season-high 17 points vs Muhlenberg on December 3rd.  

  • First-year guard Emily Romanowski is averaging 6.6 PPG, and 6.6 RPG with a team-high 21 steals. Romanowski scored a season-high 11 points vs Elmira on November 23rd.  

  • As a team Misericordia is shooting 32.2% (167-519) from the field, 21.9% (34-155) from behind the arc, and 66.1% (78-118) from the stripe.  

  • Misericordia is 0-3 on the road this season. 

CHASING HISTORY 

  • Reese Mullins is just eight points away from her 1000th career point. Mullins enters the game with 992 career points.

  • Immaculata returns from the holiday break with consecutive home games. Immaculata is 6-0 at Alumnae Hall this season.
