SCRANTON,Pa.- The Immaculata men's basketball team took down Marywood in an Atlantic East Conference matchup by a score of 77-74.
Â
In a back-and-forth contest that saw both teams leading by as many as 10 points, nobody could have predicted it would come down to the final 10 seconds of play to decide a winner.
Â
With the Mighty Macs ahead by three with 7.6 seconds left, the Pacers executed a play perfectly to hit a three to tie the contest up with 4.4 remaining. The Mighty Macs would turn to veteran
Tim Schultice to make a play, Schultice took the inbound pass and weaved his way through multiple Pacer defenders before releasing a three for the win. The Marywood faithful would look on in disbelief as Schultice's three would bank in for the game winner to send the Mighty Macs back to Immaculata with an Atlantic East Conference road victory.
Â
The Mighty Macs were led in scoring by
Dylan Crews who had 19 points, a season high for Crews who also led the way with four assists in the contest.
Dinero Washington added 18 for Immaculata on 70% from the floor including knocking down both of his attempts from beyond the arc.
John Proctor was the other Mac in double figures with 11 points of his own.
Â
Freshman
Idan Zuker made his debut for Immaculata, tallying a steal and an assist in his limited action. As a team, the Mighty Macs shot 51.7% from the floor, and 37.5% from beyond the arc.
