Box Score SCRANTON, Pa. – The Immaculata women's tennis team opened up Atlantic East Conference play with a loss on Wednesday afternoon to Marywood. The Mighty Macs dropped their matchup against the Pacers by a score of 7-2.
 
Annamarie Degnan and Pamela Kontaras won their first doubles match 8-3 for the Macs. Then Jess Dougherty and Kelly O'Brien dropped their second doubles match 8-4 while Audrey Keen and Jenna Muttik dropped third doubles 8-2.
 
Moving into singles competition, Degnan dropped first singles, after taking set one 7-6 (7-5), shoe dropped the final two sets 6-3 and 6-2. Dougherty then dropped second singles 6-2, 6-2. Kontaras then won her third singles match, winning the first and third sets by scores of 7-6 (7-5) and 11-9.
 
O'Brien then dropped fourth singles 7-5, 7-6 while Keen lost fifth singles 6-0, 6-0. Muttik, meanwhile, dropped her sixth singles matchup in three sets.
 
The Mighty Macs are scheduled to return to action on Thursday as they travel to Neumann.
