Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Immaculata women's tennis team began the spring portion of their 2021-22 schedule on Saturday, dropping their contest against Swarthmore.
Seniors
Kelly O'Brien and
Jessica Dougherty competed in first doubles for the Macs, dropping their match in an 8-0 decision. In second doubles, junior
Annamarie Degnan and
Pamela Kontaras also dropped their match 8-0. In third doubles, sophomore
Audrey Keen teamed up with freshman
Katie Gardner, losing the match 8-1.
Dougherty earned the start in first singles on the day for the Macs, dropping her set 6-0, 6-0 against the Garnet. Degnan and Kontaras were next to compete for the Macs in second and third singles, respectively. Degnan dropped her sets 6-1, 6-0 while Kontaras lost in dual 6-0 decisions.
O'Brien then competed in fourth singles for the Macs, dropping her sets in 6-1, and 6-0 decisions. Keen and
Jenna Muttik then closed the day for the Macs in fifth and sixth singles, respectively, with respective scores of 6-0, 6-0, and 6-0, 6-1.
The Mighty Macs will continue their 2022 spring season on March 6
th as they kick off their spring break trip against Cornell College.
