LANCASTER, Pa.- The Atlantic East women's volleyball coaches released their preseason poll on Tuesday morning, and Immaculata, led by fourth-year head coach
Rob Smith was picked to finish sixth in the Atlantic East with 13 points in the preseason poll.
Marymount earned the top spot in the poll with 36 points and six first-place votes followed by Cabrini in second with 29 points and the remaining first-place vote. Neumann captured the third spot in the poll with 27 points followed by Marywood in fourth with 21 points and Gwynedd Mercy in fifth with 15 points. Immaculata collected the sixth spot in the poll with 13 points while the Atlantic East's newest member-Centenary, rounded out the poll in seventh with six points of its own.
In 2020, Immaculata played an abbreviated schedule as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic, playing to a record of 0-2 on the year with narrow setbacks at the hands of Neumann and Cedar Crest. MJ Cadman and
Jade Rindock tied for the team lead in kills a season ago with eight kills each while
Emily Ettien led the team in both assists (25) and aces (6) during the shortened season. Fellow freshman
Isabella Ridgell also had an impressive rookie campaign, as she logged four aces while ranking second on the team in kills and blocks with seven and two, respectively.
Smith's charges will begin their 2021 season similarly to the way the 2020 season concluded as the Macs will host Cedar Crest inside Alumnae Hall on September 1
st before embarking on a four-match road trip, which will include visits to Cairn, PSU-Harrisburg, Rutgers-Camden, and Bryn Athyn.
