BALTIMORE, Md. – The Immaculata women's tennis team competed in day one of the Goucher Invitational on Saturday. After day one,
Kelly O'Brien and
Pamela Kontaras have reached the finals in their singles flights.
Representing the Mighty Macs in the Singles D flight,
Kelly O'Brien won her first match with scores of 6-3 and 6-4. In the second round, O'Brien defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-3 to secure a spot in the final round tomorrow.
Pamela Kontaras also had a successful day for the Macs in the Singles E flight, winning her first match 6-1, 6-1. In the second round, Kontaras dropped her first set 3-6 before winning the next two 6-2 and 10-4 to secure a spot in the final round of the E flight.
Annamarie Degnan dropped the first-round match in her Singles B flight by scores of 7-5 and 6-2. In Singles C,
Jessica Dougherty also dropped her first round match by scores of 7-5 and 6-4.
In the Doubles B flight,
Jenna Muttik and
Audrey Keen dropped their first round match with two 6-2 results.
Katie Gardner and
Sydney Mehaffey competed in the Doubles C flight, dropping their matches 6-0, 6-0.
O'Brien and Kontaras will duke it out for their championship matches tomorrow as the Goucher Invitational and the Immaculata women's tennis fall 2021 season comes to a close.
