BALTIMORE, Md.- The Immaculata women's tennis team was back in action on Saturday afternoon in the first day of the Goucher Open on the campus of Goucher College.

On the day first day of competition, Immaculata played well playing a record of 6-2 in singles play while also going 1-1 in doubles competition.

In singles play, Caleigh Masterman and Morgan Jacob each recorded a pair of victories with relative ease defeating their opponents from Frostburg St. and Marywood. Masterman dropped just two games over the course of her two matches while Jacob dropped just six games to earn her two victories.

In the third singles flight, Annamarie Degnan dropped a pair of matches to two talented foes hailing from host Goucher and Stockton while Elizabeth Lipscomb recorded a pair of wins in the fourth singles flight over opponents from Marywood and Frostburg as well.

At first doubles, Jessica Dougherty and Kelly O'Brien captured their first match of the day over Frostburg State in three sets winning the first 6-1 before dropping the second set 3-6, and coming back to win the third set 10-7. Unfortunately, Dougherty and O'Brien dropped their next match in straight sets to go 1-1 on the afternoon in doubles action.
