Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Immaculata Unviersity women's tennis team captured the university's first-ever Atlantic East Conference Championship title Saturday night with a 5-3, come-from-behind victory over second-seeded Gwynedd Mercy. The Mighty Macs dropped two of the three doubles matches to begin the night, but rallied to take four singles match points from 
Caleigh Masterman, 
Susan Callahan, 
Elizabeth Lipscomb and Jess Dougherty to clinch the title in a wire-to-wire effort.

DOUBLES RESULTS

Elizabeth Lipscomb and Jess Dougherty won the first match of the evening at third doubles with an 8-0 victory.

Caleigh Masterman and 
Susan Callahan were dropped, 8-6, at first doubles while 
Caitlin Savage and 
Morgan Jacob were defeated 8-4 at second.
SINGLES RESULTS
-Trailing by a point heading into singles play, the Macs got two quick victories at fifth and sixth singles to regain the lead. Lipscomb won 6-2, 6-4 at fifth while Dougherty produced a 6-1, 6-2 victory.
-Callahan followed suit at second singles, winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.
-The Macs led 4-3 with two singles matches remaining - Masterman at first and Jacob at third. Both women dropped the first set of their respective matches, but Masterman rallied for a 6-0 win in the second before Jacob toughed out a 7-5 win in her second set via the tiebreaker. As Jacob continued to battle at third, Masterman took complete control of the match at first to win 6-1 in the deciding set, clinching the Atlantic East Conference Tournament title.
