ORLANDO, Fla. - The Immaculata University women's tennis team concluded its spring break trip Thursday morning with a convincing, 7-2 victory over regional foe Susquehanna to even the Mighty Macs' record for the week at 2-2. The Macs swept the doubles matches to gain an early advantage before taking four of the six singles matches, highlighted by three-set victories from
Morgan Jacob and
Jessica Dougherty.
The Mighty Macs return to the court for their home-opener on Wednesday against Rosemont.
DOUBLES RESULTS
-Jacob and
Caleigh Masterman were locked into a tough battle at first singles, but came out on top, 8-6.
-
Susan Callahan and
Caitlin Savage had an equally close match that forced a tiebreaker, but the duo was able to rise up for an 8-7 (7-3) victory at the second position.
-
Elizabeth Lipscomb and
Catherine Zirolli made quick work of their third doubles opponent, 8-3.
SINGLES RESULTS
-Masterman forced a third-set tiebreaker at first singles after a 6-2 win in the second, but ultimately fell 10-6 in the deciding set.
-Callahan picked up the win at second singles with a decisive, 6-2, 7-5 result.
-Jacob produced a three-set victory at third singles, 6-4, 5-7, 10-5.
-Savage narrowly fell in a three-set decision at fourth singles, 0-6, 6-3, 9-11.
-Lipscomb posted a dominant performance at fifth singles, cruising to a 6-3, 6-0 victory.
-After dropping the first set 1-6, Dougherty rallied for a 6-3 win in the second before taking the tiebreaker 10-6.

Immaculata (4-5) returns to action Wednesday for its home-opener against Rosemont at 3:30 p.m.
