NEWS & NOTES
-The Macs are making their second conference tournament appearance in the last three seasons under third-year head coach Jayson Hyman, and are looking for the program's first postseason win since the 2011-12 season. The Macs' last postseason win also came on the road at the third-seeded team in the conference tournament on February 18. (Gwynedd Mercy, 2012).
-Immaculata and Marymount split the season series during the regular season, with each side winning at home. The Macs defeated the Saints on Jan. 9 in Alumnae Hall, 74-66, before falling on the road, 77-60, on Feb. 2. Mike Piekarski and Brandon McCullough each had 20-point nights in the January victory, with McCullough's 21 marking a career-high at the time before going for 27 against Wesley later in the season.
-The Macs' January win over Marymount marked IU's fourth-straight win at the time, which was the season-high win streak on the year. Despite winning three-straight games to close out the month of January - including a pair of Atlantic East wins - the Macs enter postseason play on a five-game skid and look to turn the tide in Monday night's quarterfinal matchup after a four-day layoff.
-Piekarski (18.3 PPG) and McCullough (14.8 PPG) have paced the Mighty Mac offense all season, as both enter Monday's contest with career-highs in scoring average. Additionally, both rank in the top-ten in the Atlantic East as Piekarski ranks fourth with McCullough following in ninth. Jordan Ambrose lands just outside the top-ten in 14th at 12.5 points per game.
-Piekarski figures in the top-ten in several Atlantic Eat statistical categories in his final season, including rebounds per game (3rd, 7.4), field goal percentage (10th, .416), free throw percentage (5th, .777), assists per game (7th, 3.2), blocked shots (3rd, 26), steals (2nd, 65) and leads the conference with 37.4 minutes per game.
-Marymount has the last-ranked scoring offense in the Atlantic East at 71.1 points per game, but makes up for it on the defense end, leading the conference with 68.8 points allowed per game. The Mighty Macs come into Monday's game with the sixth-ranked scoring offense, averaging 73.6 points per game.
