TOWSON, Md. - The Immaculata University women's tennis team spent the weekend at the Goucher Open, a two-day event that consisted of first through fourth singles draws as well as first and second doubles draws. The Open consisted of players from seven different institutions - Immaculata, Goucher, Lebanon Valley, Penn St. Abington, Stevenson, Stockton and DeSales.
Sophomore
Caleigh Masterman advanced to the first singles final, while teammate
Elizabeth Lipscomb advanced to the same match in the fourth singles draw.
SINGLES DRAW
-Masterman defeated her opponent from Del Val in the opening match, 6-1, 6-0, before posting a dominant performance in the semifinal over DeSales, 6-0, 6-0. Masterman then fell just short in the first singles final, 6-1, 7-6 (7-2).
-In the second singles bracket,
Susan Callahan placed fifth with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Lebanon Valley.

Caitlin Savage won her first round match in the third singles draw over Penn St. Abington, 6-0, 6-2. Savage dropped her semifinal match to Goucher and eventually placed fourth.
-Lipscomb took down her Del Val opponent in the fourth singles opener, 6-2, 6-3. Lipscomb then cruised in her semifinal match against DeSales 6-1, 6-4 to reach the finals but came up short to Stevenson.
DOUBLES DRAW

Catherine Zirolli and
Jessica Dougherty placed seventh in the first doubles bracket.

Katie Schisler and
Kelly O'Brien came out of the second doubles draw in seventh.
