IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata women's tennis team opened competition for the fall slate on Thursday afternoon defeating Penn State Harrisburg, 8-1, at the IU Tennis Courts.

DOUBLES PLAY
- Immaculata won at first and third doubles for an early 2-1 lead to the match. Both doubles pairs were comprised of freshmen making their collegiate debuts.
- Caleigh Masterman and
Morgan Jacob paired for a 9-7 win at first doubles, and had to come back from being down 7-5 for the win.

Elizabeth Lipscomb and
Katie Schisler were 8-4 winners at third doubles.

SINGLES PLAY
- The Mighty Macs made it a clean sweep in singles action, giving up just 14 games at the six slots.
- Masterman and Jacob won in straight 6-0, 6-0 sets at first and fourth singles, respectively.

Susan Callahan was the final match of the day to conclude as she pulled out a 6-3, 6-4 win at second singles.

Caitlin Savage (third) and Lipscomb (fifth) each won their matches, 6-2, 6-0.
- Schisler defeated her Nittany Lion opponent, 6-2, 6-1, at sixth singles.
