ASTON, Pa. – Second-seeded Neumann University won the pitcher's duel against third-seeded Immaculata University Thursday afternoon, 2-1, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Tournament contest.

The Mighty Macs (23-15) will now face top-seeded Marywood University on Saturday at noon in an elimination game. Neumann (26-13) will take on fourth-seeded Cabrini University at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Marywood will host the rest of the tournament this Saturday and Sunday. Cabrini topped Marywood, 13-1, in the other CSAC Tournament game on Thursday.

Immaculata pitcher
Michaela Petito (11-7) tossed six innings giving up two runs on eight hits, while striking out six and not giving up a walk.

The Knights broke a scoreless game in the bottom of the fifth inning as Neumann got back-to-back singles from Kristina Del Gaiso and Autumn Passarello. Then with two outs, Becky Guinto doubled into left field on a ball that went to the fence scoring both runners.

The Mighty Macs came back in the top of the sixth for one run with a one-out triple from
Ashley Rey, who scored on
Emily Mesey's sacrifice fly to center field.

Neumann pitcher Jen Sieminski (9-6) gave up just three hits and one run during seven innings. She struck out 10 and walked two Mighty Macs.

Immaculata got runners at the corners with two outs in the second, as
Annemarie Bartow was hit by a pitch and
Meghan Kugler singled but left both runners on-base. Kugler later doubled to begin the fifth inning but Immaculata wasn't able to get her across home plate.

Kugler was 2-for-3, while Rey was 1-for-3 for Immaculata. Bartow picked up two walks.
