IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata softball tossed a pair of shutouts as the Mighty Macs swept the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) doubleheader from Cabrini, 4-0 ad 6-0, Sunday afternoon.

With the two wins, Immaculata improves to 19-13 overall and 14-4 in the CSAC, and currently is in third place in the conference standings. Cabrini falls to 13-19, 11-5 CSAC.

Jessica Bormann allowed just three hits while striking out four in the opener, and
Michaela Petito had six strikeouts while giving up eight hits in the nightcap.

Abigail Carter was 6-for-8 with four runs scored in the doubleheader.
Annemarie Bartow and Bormann were each 4-for-7 as Bartow had one RBI and two runs scored, Bormann had two RBIs.
Ashley Rey finished with three hits and one RBI.

Immaculata scored in each of the first three innings of the opener for a 4-0 lead heading to the fourth inning, and made the score hold.

The Mighty Macs led off the bottom of the first with three-straight singles from Carter, Bormann and Rey. It was Rey's single to center field that allowed Carter to score from second for the first run of the game.

Bormann had a two-out double to left center in the bottom of the second inning that scored
Moriah Hunter, who reached on a fielder's choice, and Carter, who singled to third base.

Immaculata loaded the bases in the third inning with a single from Bartow,
Meghan Kugler reaching on a fielder's choice and
Victoria Post walk. Hunter then singled to the shortstop for the final run.

The nightcap was a pitcher's duel until the bottom of the fifth when the Mighty Macs broke open the game scoring five runs. Hunter and Carter started the inning with singles to the shortstop.
LeighAnn Brocious then put down a perfect sacrifice bunt along the first base line to advance the runners. Rey then drew a walk, and Bartow singled into right field to score the first run of the game for the Mighty Macs.

Emiliy Mesey hit a sac fly to right field that scored Carter, and Rey then scored on a throwing error as the ball was above the Cabrini catcher's head on the throw to the plate. Kugler singled to the left side of the infield scoring Bartow for a 4-0 lead, and Kugler later scored on
Sydney Sturgill's single into center field.

Immaculata scored one more run in the sixth inning as Carter singled to begin the inning and scored on a fielding error.

Immaculata hosts Notre Dame on Friday, April 28, at 3 p.m. for senior day.
