ASTON, Pa. – Immaculata University's softball team dropped both its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) games against Neumann University on Wednesday afternoon, 4-1 and 10-5.

In the opener, Neumann (14-8, 10-0 CSAC) scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and one more run in the fifth for a 4-0 lead.

Immaculata (12-12, 8-4 CSAC) scored one run in the sixth as
Moriah Hunter and
Abigail Carter led off the inning with singles, and both advanced one base on
Paige Murphy's grounder.
Ashley Rey then hit a single down the left field line that brought Hunter across the plate for the Mighty Macs' run.

Immaculata had a chance to score again in the top of the seventh as
Michaela Petito singled down the left field line, and Hunter drew a two-out walk, but the runners were left on base when the game ended.

Rey was 1-for-2 with one walk and one RBI in the game.
Jessica Bormann started and pitched all six innings. She allowed four runs on 11 hits while striking out two and walking three batters.

In the second game, Carter,
Annemarie Bartow and
Emily Mesey were all 2-for-4 at the plate, and Bartow and Mesey each had one RBI.

The Mighty Macs got on the scoreboard first in the third inning scoring four runs on five hits. After the first two Immaculata hitters got out,
LeighAnn Brocious singled to start the rally. Rey then hit a double to left field that allowed Brocious to score. Bartow and Mesey each had a RBI double as well as it was 3-0, and Petito's singled into left center scored Mesey to round out the four-run inning.

Neumann cut it to a two-run game (4-2) after the Knights scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Immaculata added one more run in the top of the fifth after Bartow and Mesey each singled to begin the inning.
Meghan Kugler loaded the bases with her single to left field, and Bartow scored on an error on a dropped pop up.

The Knights again cut their deficit to two runs scoring one more run in the bottom of the fifth, and Neumann scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to close out the comeback and win.

Petito started game two in the circle and tossed five and two-thirds innings. She allowed 10 runs, four earned, on 13 hits. Bormann came in to get the final out of the game while giving up one hit.

Immaculata will host King's in a rescheduled non-conference game on Monday, April 17, beginning at 1 p.m.
