LA PLUME, Pa.- The Mighty Mac men's basketball team (2-2, 0-1 CSAC) opened Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play with their fourth straight game away from Alumnae Hall, and the Macs fell behind by double digits at the half and were never able to catch up in an 82-75 loss at Keystone (2-2, 1-0 CSAC).

Jordan Ambrose had 16 points to lead the way for the Macs, who had their last lead at 4-2 and got as close as three points in the second half, but came up just short in their comeback bid.

Will Chapman had his first appearance of the season with 11 points off the bench.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Macs took a lead early in the game, 4-2 on a bucket by Piekarski in what turned out to be their only lead of the contest
-Keystone played well early, racing out to a 26-14 midway through the first half, but the Macs put together a strong 12-2 run to get back into the contest
-Chapman scored five points, Piekarski had four, and freshman
Brandon McCullough knocked down a three to trim the deficit to two at 28-26
-The Giants then closed out the period on a 14-6 run to make it 42-32 at the break
-Keystone was able to maintain the lead and extend it to 15 points, several times, as late as 65-50 with 10:32 to go
-IU made it 70-60 with 6:12 remaining and the Macs made one final push with a jumper by Piekarski, four points from sophomore
Jeffrey Powell-Young, and a three by junior
Cordell Lord to make it 72-69 with 4:14 to go in the game
-Keystone made it a seven point game again with four straight, but the Macs responded with four of their own by Ambrose on free throws and a layup by Powell-Young to make it 76-73 with 2:53 remaining
-The Macs were unable to get any closer as Keystone finished off the 82-75 win

-The teams were nearly identical from the floor with IU shooting 42.4% (28-for-66) and Keystone shooting 42.6% (29-for-68)
-Each team made 14 free throws and the Macs held a 44-43 advantage on the glass
-Keystone knocked down 10 of their 32 three point attempts while the Macs struggled shooting 5-for-26 from beyond the arc
