IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's basketball team suffered a 98-74 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) loss to Cabrini University Wednesday night at Alumnae Hall.

The Mighty Macs (8-10, 6-5 CSAC) had two players record double-doubles as
Roy Ferrell Jr. had 18 points and 11 rebounds along with two assists and two steals, and
Mike Piekarski finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Matt Simon finished with 14 points, four rebounds and two steals.
Eric Pittman Jr. had nine points, two assists and two steals, while
Jordan Ambrose recorded eight points and five rebounds.

The two teams were even out of the gate as Immaculata answered Cabrini during the first four minutes of the contest as the game was tied at 5-5 at the 16:27 mark. The Cavaliers then went on a 12-4 run that gave them a 17-9 lead with 11:08 to play in the half.

The Mighty Macs saw their opportunity and went on an 8-2 spurt fueled by two three-pointers from Simon to trim the Cavaliers lead to two (19-17) with 9:26 to go. However, Cabrini built its lead back to nine points, and despite Immaculata cutting it to five (26-21) with 6:51 remaining in the half, the Cavaliers would add to their lead the rest of the stanza before taking a 40-21 advantage at half.

Immaculata tried to hang around in the early part of the second half, and got to within 13 points of Cabrini twice. The last time was with 13:59 to play in the contest as Simon had a layup, but the Mighty Macs just could not break through the 13-point barrier. Immaculata was within 14 (59-45) with 11:37 to go when Cabrini went on a 13-3 run that sealed the game up with a 24-point edge (72-48) with 8:59 left.

Cabrini (14-4, 10-1 CSAC) had a strong performance from the field at 48.6 percent (36-for-74) and at the foul line shooting 68 percent (17-25). Immaculata was 27 of 80 (.338) from the field and 12 of 26 (.462) at the free throw line.
