Macs Move to 3-0 With Victory Over Rutgers-Camden

IMMACULATA, Pa.-
The Immaculata women's tennis team moved to 3-0 to start the young season after an 8-1 victory over Rutgers-Camden (0-1) on Saturday afternoon at the IU Tennis Courts.
 
The Macs remained unbeaten in doubles play on the season as they swept all three while dropping just three games.  Senior Lauren Degnan and junior Kelly Gross won 8-2 at first doubles, senior Annaliese Kamobouroglos and sophomore Caitlin Savage cruised 8-0 at second doubles, and freshman Susan Callahan and sophomore Claire Stimson won 8-1 at third doubles.
 
In singles, the Macs took five of six, and nearly swept all six, except Degnan lost a 10-8 third set tiebreaker for her first defeat of the season at first singles.
 
Gross won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles, Kambouroglos won 6-2, 6-0 in third singles and Callahan won 6-1, 6-0 in fourth singles.
 
Savage and freshman Timesha Smith won 6-0, 6-0 at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
