IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata started out the 2016 volleyball slate with a pair of home matches, and the Mighty Macs ended the evening going 1-1. Immaculata began the night with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-18) loss to Haverford, but rallied to close out with a sweep of Bryn Mawr, 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-21).

Gabrielle Guerrera combined for 17 kills, including 11 against the Owls, during the two matches, while posting four total blocks.
Olivia Zdradzinski and
Tess Kieffer each added 13 kills for the night.
Maranda Jones tallied 15 assists in each match to finish with 30, and Zdradzinski handed out 26 assists, 17 opposite Bryn Mawr.

Molly Truitt served up six aces against Bryn Mawr, and recorded eight during the night.
Arden Vizzard reached double figures in digs during both matches, including 20 opposite Haverford to lead the way. Truitt also had double-digit digs during both matches for a total of 27 after 16 against Haverford.
Immaculata played a close match with Haverford and had chances to win in every set. Immaculata fought back from a 6-1 deficit to begin the match to eventually come within one point of the Fords at 14-13. However, an eight-point run by Haverford was too much to overcome as it won the first set, 25-20.
The second set went back and forth, and the Mighty Macs tied the score at 14-all. The Fords grabbed a three-point lead at 22-19, and closed out the second set with three consecutive points. The third set was much of the same story as the Mighty Macs and Fords were knotted at 13-13. This time however, Haverford scored seven-straight points and Immaculata was not able to recover.
Immaculata dominated the early going of the first set with Bryn Mawr. Zdradzinski served up 12 consecutive points for the Mighty Macs as the hosts opened a 16-2 lead on the Owls. Immaculata eventually won 25-12.
The sMighty Macs and Owls were tied at 13-13 during the second set, and Immaculata only held a 17-16 edge before the Mighty Macs won the last eight points for the win. The third set was dominated by each team's scoring runs, but it was Immaculata's five-point spurt to make it 24-16 that set the Macs up for victory despite a late surge by the Owls.
