IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata softball got a split with Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday as the teams rounded out the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) regular season. The Mighty Macs bounced back from a game one loss, 8-4, with a walk-off 1-0 win in the nightcap.

Immaculata enters the CSAC Tournament as the fifth seed with a 16-20 overall and 14-8 CSAC mark. The Mighty Macs will travel to fourth-seeded Marywood on Wednesday, May 4, for a first round game. Gwynedd Mercy (26-10, 17-5 CSAC) will be the third seed in the tournament.

Jessica Bormann pitched a three-hit complete game shutout for the Macs in game two. She also struck out two Griffins for her eighth win in the circle this season as she faced just two hitters over the minimum. Â

Immaculata threaten in the third and fourth innings but left two runners stranded both innings.

The Mighty Macs started the seventh with a double into center field by
Paige Hughes.
Lauren Penn reached on an error as
Paige Murphy, who was in to pinch run, advanced to third. Now with two outs, Bormann hit a routine grounder to the shortstop, who bobbled the ball out of her glove, and allowed Bormann to reach and Murphy to score the winning run.

Bormann was 2-for-4 at the plate, and
Meghan Kugler went 2-for-3.
Kelsey Collevechio, Hughes and Penn each had one hit in the second game.

In the opener, Gwynedd Mercy scored in the first with a two-run home run, but Immaculata evened the score in the bottom of the inning as
Caitlin Brasier had a two-RBI double into left center.

Immaculata went ahead, 3-2, in the bottom of the second as Bormann doubled into left center scoring Penn.
Â
However, the Griffins got four runs on five hits in the third to regain the lead, 6-3. Gwynedd Mercy added to that advantage with one run in the fourth.

Immaculata used Hughes' lead-off double to score its fourth run in the sixth as Collevechio had the RBI single for a 7-4 game.

Gwynedd Mercy closed the books on the opener with one run in the seventh, and the Griffins retired the Mighty Macs in order in the bottom half.

Collevechio, Bormann,
Melissa Ejk and Hughes all had two hits apiece in the game. Brasier had the two RBIs.

Brasier went all seven innings in the circle for Immaculata. She struck out four while allowing 12 hits and eight runs, four earned. Â
