Box Score 2 IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata softball lost a pair of one-run games to Marywood Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. The visiting Pacers won the opener, 4-3, and won the nightcap in eight innings, 5-4.

Immaculata scored six of its seven runs of the day by the long ball, including all three runs in game one.

In game one, Marywood scored three runs in the first and one in the sixth for a 4-0 lead. Immaculata got two runs back in the bottom of the sixth as
Caitlin Brasier hit a two-run homer, scoring
Annemarie Bartow, who singled.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh,
Kelsey Collevechio hit a solo shot to make it a 4-3 game. Immaculata followed with singles from
Lauren Penn and
Melissa Ejk and a walk by Bartow to load the bases. However, the Pacers were able to escape the inning for the win.

Ejk and Bartow each had two hits in the game. Brasier tossed a complete game allowing nine hits and four runs. She struck out three and walked three.

Marywood (5-7, 2-0 CSAC) scored one run in the third before adding two runs in the top of the fifth for a 3-0 lead.

Immaculata (3-15, 2-4 CSAC) did its damage in the bottom of the fifth as
Meghan Kugler doubled to begin what would be a four-hit, four-run inning for the Macs.
Kathleen Devaney and Collevechio both singled, as Kugler scored on Collevechio's hit. Ejk then hit a two-out three-run home run that brought Collevechio and
Jessica Bormann around to score.

The Mighty Macs took their 4-3 lead into the top of the seventh where the Pacers rallied for a two-out RBI single from Brooke Labs that scored the tying run. Â

The Pacers then scored the go-ahead run with two outs in the top of the eighth, and held on for the 5-4 win.

Brasier was 3-for-4, while Ejk was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Kugler was 2-for-3, and Devaney was 2-for-2.

Bormann gave up 12 hits, five runs, four earned, while striking out one in the loss.

Immaculata heads to Alvernia on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
