Box Score 2 CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – Immaculata softball traveled to Summit Wednesday afternoon and swept the host Defenders by a score of 9-1 in both games.

The Mighty Macs improve to 6-4 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) with the pair of wins and 7-15 overall. Summit drops to 4-18, 1-7 CSAC.

In the opener, it was a seven-run fifth inning that propelled the Mighty Macs to the win, and broke open a 1-1 contest.

Immaculata scored one unearned run in the first after
Kelsey Collevechio, who was hit by a pitch to lead off the game, scored on an error in the outfield.
Â
Summit tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the second with a two-triple and the next hitter had a RBI single.

Following a quiet two innings, Immaculata scored seven runs on seven hits and used two Defender errors. The Mighty Macs loaded the bases following
Paige Hughes' single,
Tabitha Mulholland's walk and Collevechio's single. Immaculata's first run scored off a Summit error, and Mulholland and Collevechio came around on
Melissa Ejk's single into center field.
Annemarie Bartow followed up with a two-run home run to make it 6-1. The final two runs of the inning scored as Mulholland doubled into left center on her second time at the plate.

Mulholland delivered again for Immaculata in the seventh inning as she doubled into left center once again scoring
Christen Martin, who singled to start the inning.

Mulholland finished game one 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Ejk and Bartow were both 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Caitlyn Brasier picked up the win as she scattered six hits while striking out six and allowing just the one run.

Immaculata's pitching was the story of game two as
Jessica Bormann tossed a one-hitter, and the one run by Summit was unearned, for the complete-game five-inning victory.

At the plate, Bartow was a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
Kathleen Devaney was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and
Becca Reifer was 2-for-3 scoring three runs.

Immaculata scored in four of the five innings, beginning with two runs in each the first and second innings. Bartow had a two-RBI single to score the Mighty Macs' two runs in the first, and the runs in the second came from Collevechio on a RBI double and Devaney's RBI single.

The Mighty Macs made it 5-0 in the third after Reifer, who singled, scored on an error.

Immaculata closed out the game in the fifth with four hit and four runs.

Summit scored one run in the bottom of the first as its lead-off hitter reached on an error, and came around to score.

Immaculata heads to Centenary on Saturday afternoon for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
