Box Score RADNOR, Pa.- Looking to complete a sweep over Cabrini and grab their fourth straight over the Cavaliers, the Mighty Macs (7-13, 6-7 CSAC) were never able to get control of the game and trailed the whole way in an 83-72 defeat at Cabrini (11-8, 9-4 CSAC) on Wednesday night. With five games to go in the regular season, the Macs are alone in the sixth and final spot of the CSAC postseason with a two game lead over Keystone and two games behind Centenary.
Junior
Roy Ferrell Jr. went back to his high scoring ways with 28 points (12-for-23 FG) and a team-high four steals, and senior
Rodney Duncan had 17 points (9-for-12 FT) and nine boards for the Macs. Senior
Ron Melton had eight boards, and freshman
Mike Piekarski scored six points and added three boards.
As a team, the Mighty Macs have made three-pointers a critical part of their offense this season, but IU was just 2-for-16 from three in the game. IU was 27-for-64 (42.2%) from the field overall.
Cabrini wasted no time taking control of the contest as they scored the first eight points and held IU scoreless until the 16:27 mark when Duncan had a traditional three-point play as he knocked down the free throw. Ferrell Jr. added a lay-up on the next possession to trim the deficit to three in 16 seconds.
With 14 minutes to go, Ferrell Jr. got a steal and a fastbreak lay-up to trim the deficit to two points at 11-9, but Cabrini then ripped off 12 straight points to get their lead all the way up to 14 points at 23-9 with 9:18 to go in the first.
The lead would hold in double digits at 31-19 with 4:53 to go in the half when the Macs went on a 7-0 spurt behind a couple free throws by Duncan, a jumper by freshman
James Willis, and a triple by Ferrell Jr. The Macs would head to the locker room trailing 37-29.
Out of the gates, Immaculata would trim the deficit to four points at 39-35 on a jumper by Duncan and got as close as three at 49-46 with 15 minutes to go after an and-one by junior
Michael Sturdivant Jr. Cabrini would keep trying to pull away, but IU was there with an answer every time.

Michael Griffin III hit a jumper and sophomore
Will Chapman converted a lay-up to make it 55-53 with 10:40 to go in the contest, but that was the closest they would get the rest of the way. The Cavaliers would get it as high as 13 before closing out the 83-72 win.
The Macs will travel to Marywood on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
