Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. – Immaculata started off the 2016 campaign on its spring trip to Clermont, Fla., falling in both games of day one. The Mighty Macs started the morning with a 3-0 loss to Saint Vincent, and finished the day's action with a 4-0 loss to Ohio Northern.

In the opener, it was a promising start for the Mighty Macs as they got two runners on base in the top of the first as Kesley Collevechio singled into right field and
Melissa Ejk followed with a walk. However, two ground ball outs closed the inning without Immaculata plating a run.

Saint Vincent (2-1) doubled to start its half of the first inning, but
Tabitha Mulholland was able to throw the runner out as she tried to stretch it into a triple. The Bearcats stranded one runner in the first after a hit by pitch.

Immaculata (0-2) got a two-out double from
Paige Hughes, who advanced to third after a passed ball, in the second inning, but she was left at the corner.

Saint Vincent got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second as the lead-off batter reached on an error and scored when the next hitter tripled. Two batters later, a single through the left side plated the Bearcats second run.

Saint Vincent got one more run in the bottom of the third as the Bearcats had a lead-off home run.

The rest of the way was quiet for both teams as each was limited to no more than a single in each inning. Immaculata did make some two-out noise in the seventh as
Caitlyn Hudock singled to start the inning, and with two outs,
Lauren Penn singled to bring the tying run to the plate.

Jessica Bormann got the start in the circle for her collegiate debut. She gave up eight hits, three runs, two earned, while striking out four in six innings of work.

Ohio Northern's (5-2) Kirsten Lightel tossed a no-hitter against the Mighty Macs in the second game. Lightel had a perfect game thru the first 20 hitters when
Melissa Ejk drew a two-out walk in the bottom of the seventh.

The Polar Bears started the contest scoring three runs in the top of the first. Ohio Northern had a lead-off single, and the runner later made it to third. Another single drove in the first run, while a two-run home run finished the scoring in the inning.

Ohio Northern added one more run in the fifth inning as the run scored on an error following a stolen base.

Meghan Kugler started the game and pitched the first two innings. She allowed three runs on four hits and had one strikeout.
Caitlin Brasier came on and went the last five innings. She allowed just four hits, one runs and struck out one batter.

Immaculata takes the field again tomorrow at 9 a.m. facing Finlandia, followed by Rose-Hulman at 11 a.m.
