IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata softball played the Widener University Pride on Thursday afternoon, but the Pride won both games, 8-1 and 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST WIDENER – GAME 1
  • The Mighty Macs erased the scoreless tie with a run in the first inning. Alexis Andrada scored Jamie Green on a sac-fly. Jessica Vido struck out the last batter of the second inning, despite Widener loading the bases. Rylee Martin began the second inning with a triple, but a double play ended the side. The Pride put themselves in the lead in the third inning with four runs. Widener was up 4-1 after three.
  • The visitors extended their advantage in the fourth on a two-run home run. Both teams were quiet until the top of the sixth, where Widener finished their scoring with two more scores. Sara Pierson, pitching in relief, eliminated three of four Widener batters in the seventh on three swinging strikeouts. However, the Mighty Macs were unable to make up ground in the deficit. Widener took game one 8-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST WIDENER – GAME 2
