RADNOR, Pa.- The Immaculata men's basketball team will be making their seventh consecutive appearance in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) postseason tonight as they enter the tournament as the No. 6 seed and will travel to No. 3 Cabrini for an 8 p.m. contest.

The Mighty Macs will be looking to break a recent string of playoff struggles as they have been eliminated three consecutive seasons from the CSAC postseason in the CSAC Quarterfinals. They are 2-6 in CSAC postseason play in the team's history with both of the wins coming against Gwynedd Mercy on February 22
nd, 2010 by a score of 87-82, and February 18
th, 2012 by a count of 94-82.

The Mighty Macs and Cavaliers have met once before in the CSAC playoffs and Cabrini defeated IU on February 21
st, 2012, 87-68, at Cabrini.

Most recently, Immaculata has played very well against Cabrini, winning three of the past four contests. Last season, the Mighty Macs swept the Cavaliers for the first time ever with an 85-84 victory on the road and a 76-62 win at home.

This season, the Mighty Macs registered their first victory of the season in emphatic fashion over Cabrini by a score of 84-64 on December 2
nd, 2015. The Mighty Macs were outstanding from three-point range, shooting 12-for-25 (48%), led by senior
Rodney Duncan with 24 points on 7-of-10 shooting, and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Junior
Matt Simon added four more three pointers on his way to 16 points, while junior
Roy Ferrell Jr., senior
Ron Melton, and senior
Tony Calamaro all had 11 points to give the Mighty Macs five scorers in double digits.

For Cabrini, Ryan Charity led the way with 17 points off the bench and Tyheim Monroe registered a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Mighty Macs led 40-33 at the break and ran away with the game in the second half, leading by as many as 23 at one point, before coming away with the 20-point victory.

In the rematch on February 3
rd, 2016, the Cavaliers exacted some revenge with an 83-72 victory in a game that the Mighty Macs never led. Ferrell Jr. had a strong game with 28 points and four steals, while Duncan had 17. The Mighty Macs struggled with ball control that night, turning it over 17 times, while knocking down just two of their 16 three-point field goals.

Cabrini had four scorers in double figures led by Monroe with 19 points and 17 rebounds, and Deryl Bagwell with 19 points. Jair Green added 17, and Ivan Robinson had 11.

The Mighty Macs have been led all season long by Honorable Mention All-CSAC honoree
Roy Ferrell Jr. at 16.3 points per contest. He has been the best shooter for IU this season as well at 47.7% (144-for-302), and has added 4.8 boards per game, and 1.6 steals. He averaged 19.5 points per game against Neumann this season.

Junior
Matt Simon comes in with 12.6 points per contest. He has done most of his heavy lifting from three point range this season with 50 triples. He needs just two more threes to break the school record for threes made in a career. Senior
Rodney Duncan comes in third averaging 11.7 points per game and leading the team with 2.5 assists per contest. He is averaging 20.5 points per game against Cabrini this year.

As a team, the Macs will enter play tonight eighth in the conference in points with 70.0 per game, but the third best defense, allowing 74.9 per game. The Macs other strength comes from the three-point line where they are second in the conference at 35.6% on all three point attempts, and have set a program record with 207 made triples.

First Team All-CSAC honoree Tyheim Monroe is the biggest threat for the Cavaliers as he leads the team in scoring (4
th in the CSAC) with 18.3 points per game, and averages a league-high 15.3 rebounds per contest.  Second Team All-CSAC member Jair Green is fifth in the league with 17.5 points per game. Deryl Bagwell (13.8 ppg) and Ivan Robinson (13.0 ppg) also average double figures for the Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers are the second-best scoring team in the CSAC at 85.2 points per game and are seventh in defense, surrendering 81.0 points per contest.

With a win, the Mighty Macs would travel to top-seeded Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday night for the CSAC Semifinals and a Cabrini win would send them to No. 2 Neumann.
