IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's basketball played its final contest before heading into the Christmas break Saturday afternoon falling to McDaniel, 53-43, in non-conference play inside Alumnae Hall.

Matt Krewson tallied a team-leading 14 points, including 6-for-6 at the line, while grabbing a team-best eight rebounds.
Mike Piekarski finished with six points, four rebounds and two steals.
Cordell Lord scored five points, all from the foul line, and had two rebounds and two steals.
Jordan Ambrose chipped in four points, five rebounds and three steals, while
Jeffery Powell-Young also had four points.

McDaniel (4-4) ran out to a 10-1 lead on Immaculata during the first seven minutes of the game. The Mighty Macs got their first basket from the field at the 13:12 mark from Piekarski making the score 10-3. McDaniel took a double-digit lead but Krewson sunk a 3-pointer with 8:50 to play in the first half that cut Immaculata's deficit to 15-7. McDaniel built a 15-point lead (24-9) but Immaculata was able to reduce it to 11 before McDaniel connected on a three just before halftime for the 29-15 lead.

Krewson scored the first nine points of the second half for the Mighty Macs as they got no closer than within 10 points for McDaniel. McDaniel led by as many as 17 points, the last time with 9:19 remaining in the game (42-25). Immaculata eventually cut its deficit back to a single digit (48-39) with 55 seconds left in the contest as it was 12-for-15 at the free throw line during that span.

The Mighty Macs tried to close the gap further during the final minute, getting to within eight (51-53), but McDaniel was 5 of 6 at the foul to seal the win.

Immaculata (3-5) outscored McDaniel during the second half, 28-24, but it wasn't enough to overcome the hole it dug during the first 20 minutes of play. The Mighty Macs' strong performance at the free throw line also kept them in the game as Immaculata was 23-for-29 (.793) from the line during the game. Immaculata was 19 of 23 at the free throw line during the second half.
