Immaculata Women Fall At Arcadia Tuesday Night, 80-58

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's basketball squad played its final contest prior to the Thanksgiving break Tuesday evening falling on the road to Arcadia, 80-58.
 
Annie Kohutka led the scoring for the Mighty Macs (0-4) with a career-best 21 points after going 8-for-14 (.571) from the field and 3 of 6 (.500) from three-point range. Kohutka also had five rebounds. Tamyra Laws posted her fourth double-double in as many games with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Gina Cocci added nine points and five assists for the Mighty Macs, while Erica Kramer dished out three helpers and had four rebounds. Both Molly Gallagher and Tess Kieffer had five rebounds each.  
 
The Mighty Macs trailed by nine points (11-2) with 3:37 to play in the opening quarter but closed the gap to 11-9 following buckets from Laws and Kieffer and a three-pointer by Kohutka with 2:30 to go. However, the Knights were able to push their lead back to nine at the end of the quarter, 18-9.
 
Arcadia (3-1) extended its advantage to 22-9 during the first 1:37 of the second quarter before Immaculata would make a run. Kohutka hit a three with 7:40 remaining starting an 11-2 run for the Mighty Macs that cut the score to 24-20 with just under five minutes left before halftime. The Knights pushed their edge back to nine but Immaculata closed within four (31-27) with 1:16 left following another three by Kohutka. Immaculata trailed by just eight points (35-27) at halftime thanks to a strong second-quarter effort in which the Mighty Macs outscored the Knights, 18-17.
 
Immaculata was down by nine (42-33) with 6:46 to play in the third quarter when Arcadia started to pull away with 13-6 run that took the teams to the two-minute mark in the quarter.
 
The Knights led by as many as 25 points, the last time 6:12 remaining in the fourth quarter, 70-45. The Mighty Macs responded with an 8-0 spurt that ran to the 3:11 mark and brought Immaculata within 70-53. Laws had six of the eight points during the run.
 
Immaculata plays the final game of its road string at Eastern on Wednesday evening, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m.
