ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Immaculata University women's basketball took on Bryn Athyn College in the consolation game of the Scott Wood Tournament hosted by Muhlenberg College on Saturday afternoon, and the Mighty Macs fell to the Lions, 75-40.
 
It was a slow start to the game for Immaculata (0-3) as Bryn Athyn was on a 13-0 run before Gina Cocci connected on a three-pointer for the Mighty Macs with 5:43 to play in the first quarter. The Lions then scored the next 10 points, and 12 of the final 14 points of the first quarter for a 25-5 lead. Tamyra Laws added a layup with 26 seconds left in the quarter to stop Bryn Athyn's run.
 
Bryn Athyn (1-1) continued to outscore Immaculata in the second half, leading by 25 points (36-11) with 3:53 to play before halftime. The Mighty Macs tried to trim their deficit as it approached intermission. Annie Kohutka sunk a three-pointer with 2:23 to go, added a pair of free throws, and converted on the three-point play after getting fouled on a good layup with 49 seconds to go to make it a 37-19 contest following her eight points for Immaculata.
 
The Lions would go into the halftime locker room with a 43-21 lead on the Mighty Macs.
 
Immaculata got it to a 20-point game at the start of the third quarter as Molly Gallagher scored the first bucket. However, Bryn Athyn would push its lead to 30 by the end of the quarter. The Lions would lead by as many as 37 towards the final seconds of the game.
 
Laws grabbed a team-leading 14 rebounds while also pacing the squad with 11 points. Kohutka finished with eight points and three rebounds, and Tess Kieffer also tallied eight points. Gallagher chipped in five points and three rounds, and Cocci had six points and two rebounds.
 
Immaculata will be at Arcadia on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
