Box Score LA PLUME, Pa.- Looking to win their third consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest, the Mighty Macs (5-9, 4-3 CSAC) travelled to Keystone (2-10, 2-5 CSAC) on Wednesday night, but a slow first half where the Macs were outscored 40-26 was too big of a hole to climb out of in a 74-59 defeat. After knocking down a program-record 15 triples on Saturday in the win over Marywood, the Mighty Macs made just six of them tonight and struggled at the line, shooting just 7-of-14.

Roy Ferrell Jr. the best game for the Macs, scoring 17 points (6-of-10 FG) with five boards, three assists, and three steals. Freshman
Jimmy Markham contributed 10 points (4-for-5 FG, 2-for-2, 3 Pt FG) in 10 minutes off the bench. Junior

The Mighty Macs were a little sluggish from the start of the game as Keystone scored the first five points, and raced out to a 12-2 lead just 4:36 into the game. A Ferrell Jr. lay-in was the only bucket of the opening minutes for the Macs. Junior
Michael Griffin III (4 points) hit a jumper at the 15:11 mark, but the Giants would score the next four to take a 16-4 lead.
Freshman
Cordell Lord (3 points) hit a three pointer with 11 minutes to go, but those were the only three field goals IU hit in the first 11 minutes of the game as Keystone swelled their lead to 15 points at 22-7.
Keystone would go up by 19 at 31-12 before the Macs outscored the Giants 14-9 over the rest of the half and trailed 40-26 at the break.
In need of a run to start the half and get back in the game, the Mighty Macs rattled off a 17-4 spurt to trim the deficit all the way down to one point, but IU was unable to get the lead. Simon knocked down a jumper, and Ferrell Jr. converted a three-point play before he drilled a three pointer for a quick 8-0 run out of the gates. Following a Keystone free throw, Ferrell Jr. hit a jumper that was answered by Keystone.
Junior
Michael Sturdivant Jr. (7 points, 5 rebounds) then converted his own three-point play, and following a Giant free throw, Markham, and senior
Ron Melton (6 points, 3 steals) scored to make it 44-43 with 12:52 remaining.
IU would trim the deficit to one point on two other occasions at 46-45 and 48-47, but the Giants then went on a 10-0 run to go up 58-47 and IU never cut the game to single digits the rest of the way as Keystone finished off the 74-59 victory.
The Mighty Macs will travel to Summit on Saturday at 3 p.m.
