IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's tennis team (6-1, 4-1 CSAC) won their fourth Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match of the season in shutout fashion as they topped Neumann (2-6, 0-4 CSAC) by a count of 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the IU Tennis Courts.
The Mighty Macs have now won five consecutive matches after falling to Cabrini on September 12
th.
Junior
Lauren Degnan and sophomore
Kelly Gross remained perfect at 7-0 in doubles play with an 8-4 win in first doubles. Senior
Kara Trowbridge and junior
Annaliese Kambouroglos won 8-3 in the second spot, and freshman
Caitlin Savage and junior
Jenna Fratterelli won easily in third doubles, 8-1.
In singles, the Mighty Macs continued to roll. Degnan won 6-1, 7-6 in first singles, and junior
Nicole Burley had a tough win in the third set tiebreak, 10-5, after dropping the first set 4-6 and winning the second set 6-3.
Trowbridge won by retirement in the third spot, and Kambouroglos had a 6-0, 6-2 victory at number four.
Fratterelli and Gross played great in the fifth and sixth spots, respectively, with 6-0, 6-0 victories in both matches.
The Mighty Macs will look for their sixth straight win next Friday with a trip to Notre Dame.
