CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa.- The Immaculata women's tennis team improved their Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) mark to 6-2 with just two regular season matches to go as they cruised to a 9-0 victory over Summit on Tuesday afternoon.
With the win, the Macs closed out a five-match road stretch and will now return home for a match against Marywood on Friday, and the regular season finale against Cairn on Saturday.
In doubles, the Macs cruised and lost just two games along the way. Junior
Lauren Degnan and sophomore
Kelly Gross won easily 8-0 in the first doubles spot. In second doubles, junior
Annaliese Kambouroglos and senior
Kara Trowbridge, and junior
Jenna Fratterelli and freshman
Caitlin Savage in third doubles each won 8-1.
In singles, the Mighty Macs continued to dominate and came away with the 9-0 victory. Degnan won 6-1, 6-1 in first singles, and junior
Nicole Burley won in a third set tiebreak in the second spot with a 10-7 win. Trowbridge remained undefeated in CSAC play with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph, and Kambouroglos won 6-1, 6-1 in the fourth spot.
Fratterelli won 6-1, 6-0 in the fifth spot, and Gross finished off victory with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
