Men's Lacrosse Downed By Stockton

POMONA, N.J. – Immaculata University's men's lacrosse team suffered an 18-4 setback on Wednesday night at Richard Stockton in non-conference action.
 
Freshman Tyler Freas scored his first two collegiate goals to pace the Mighty Macs' offense. Senior Bhelly Bagbonon and junior Jonathan Kopistecki each tallied one goal. Bagbonon also had two assists and Luc Minnich assisted on one of Freas' goals.
 
Freshman Brien Cullen got the start in goal and played 19 minutes. He made eight saves and allowed six goals. Freshman Donald Schiffer came in and played just over 30 minutes, recording 10 saves while giving up nine goals. Junior Jalal Hodges played the remaining 10 minutes as IU's goalkeeper with two stops and three goals allowed.
 
The Mighty Macs (0-2) scored one goal in each quarter.
 
The Ospreys (3-1) came out with an eight-goal first quarter and scored the first six goals for a 6-0 advantage with 1:32 remaining in the opening frame.
 
Freas scored the Mighty Macs' first two tallies for the game. His first goal came with 40 seconds left in the first quarter while his second goal was with 1:06 remaining in the second.
 
Tyler Van Benschoten and Drew Wright each scored three goals to lead a group of 12 Stockton players who netted goals.
 
Immaculata continues its road stretch on Saturday traveling to Catholic University at 1 p.m.
