After sending just three batters over the minimum to the plate through the first four innings, Immaculata's bats came alive in the fifth inning as it sent up 12 hitters. Immaculata got its first two base runners on walks, but the Mighty Macs were faced with two on with two out. Jessica DeCastro hit a RBI single into right center to bring around Patsy Murphy for Immaculata's first run. The Mighty Macs' second run scored on an error, which also kept the inning alive for the visitors. Liz Biddle then made Cabrini pay for the mistake with a three-run home run that tied the game at 5-5.

Still batting in the fifth, Samantha Strickland reached on an error and then Meghan Kugler was hit by a pitch and Danielle Palmisano walked to load up the bases. Brittany Merkle then delivered a single into right center that scored both Strickland and Kugler for the 7-5 lead.

Immaculata was able to add two more insurance runs in the sixth after loading the bases with singles by Rachel Kelly and DeCastro and an intentional walk to Biddle. Strickland drove the ball down the left field line for two RBI and the 9-5 edge.
