Duncan's Career High Carries Immaculata To 66-63 Victory

Box Score

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa.- The Immaculata men's basketball team won their third straight close Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) game on Saturday afternoon with a 66-63 triumph at Baptist Bible.  The Mighty Macs (3-3, 3-0 CSAC) were led by a career-high effort by junior Rodney Duncan who poured in 23 points.

After his game-winning baskets each of the last two games, senior Mamadou Diakite scored 14 points and collected nine rebounds.

The game was tight the entire way and with eight minutes remaining the score was 53-53.  Sophomore Roy Ferrell Jr. (8 points) and Diakite each poured in baskets to put IU up 59-56 with four minutes to go.  A pair of free throws by Baptist Bible cut it to a one point game, but Duncan locked up the victory for the Mighty Macs by scoring seven straight points down the stretch.

He drilled a three with 1:16 to go, and the Defenders responded with one of their own to keep it at a one point game.  Duncan then went 4-for-4 down the stretch at the line to ice it away for IU.

The Mighty Macs led 31-27 at the break and there were eight lead changes in the game.

Immaculata will now have a break for the week and will play at Arcadia next Saturday as they go back to non-conference play.
