Women's Tennis Picks Up 6-3 Victory

BRYN MAWR, Pa.- The Immaculata women's tennis team equaled with their win total from a season ago with a 6-3 non-conference victory over Bryn Mawr on Wednesday afternoon.  They have pushed their record to 9-4 overall, tying their 2013 win total when they were 9-9.

The second and third doubles tandems picked up wins to get the Mighty Macs off to a good start.  Juniors Emily Degnan and Kara Trowbridge won easily, 8-0, in the second spot while the strong tandem of senior Pattie McGinley and sophomore Annaliese Kambouroglos won 8-3 in the third spot as they bounced back from their first loss of the season on Saturday.

Trowbridge and Kambouroglos would make it two-win days with victories in singles play.  Trowbridge won 6-2, 6-1 in the fourth spot while Kambouroglos earned a point in the fifth spot with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph.

Sophomore Nicole Burley earned a tough victory in the third spot, 7-6, 6-3, and sophomore Jenna Fratterelli got the final point of the day for IU with a 7-6, 6-0 victory in the sixth spot.

The Mighty Macs have a pivotal weekend of Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) matches as they travel to Cairn on Friday before hosting Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday.
