BOX SCOREALLENTOWN, Pa.- The Immaculata women's tennis team continued their historically great start to the season with a 9-0 triumph over Cedar Crest (3-6, 1-2 CSAC). The Mighty Macs (8-2, 5-1 CSAC) dropped just one set during the nine matches, and have won three straight and six of their last seven matches.
In doubles, sophomore
Lauren Degnan and junior
Emily Degnan won 8-1 in doubles, while sophomore
Nicole Burley and senior
Paige Sparks earned a tough 9-7 victory in the second spot. Sophomore
Annaliese Kambouroglos and senior
Pattie McGinley remained unbeaten on the season with an 8-4 win in third doubles.
In singles,
Lauren Degnan in first singles (6-0, 6-1) and Kambouroglos in fourth singles (6-0, 6-2) moved to 6-0 in CSAC play with their victories.
Emily Degnan won in straight sets without dropping a game in the second singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win, while Burley won 6-2, 6-4 in third singles.
Sophomore
Jenna Fratterelli won in the fifth position 6-3, 6-0, while McGinley had to work the hardest for her point with a third set tiebreaker victory, 6-2, 2-6, 10-4.
IU will look to win their season-high fourth straight match on Friday when they host Cabrini on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
