Mighty Macs Topped By Elizabetown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.- The Immaculata women's soccer team (0-3) dropped their road non-conference matchup at Elizabethtown on Saturday afternoon by a count of 8-0.  Junior goalie Meghan McCurnin was solid in net making nine saves in one half of work.
 
Elizabethtown struck early with a goal in the eighth minute to give them a 1-0 lead.  The game held at the same score for a majority of the first half as McCurnin and the defense played well until the Blue Jays scored a pair of goals in the final six minutes of the half to make it 3-0 at halftime.
 
Sophomore Elizabeth McBride came on in the second half in net and made five saves, but Elizabethtown was able to grow their lead.  They scored two goals in a two-minute stretch to make it 5-0 in the 59th minute.
 
The Blue Jays would add three more goals in the final twenty minutes to get to the final of 8-0.
 
Immaculata will look to bounce back on Tuesday afternoon when they host Widener at 4 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
