IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's tennis team won their third consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match on Saturday by a score of 9-0 over Cairn (1-3, 1-2 CSAC) to push their conference record to a perfect 3-0. The Mighty Macs lost only 11 games over the course of the nine matches.
In doubles, Immaculata dominated the Highlanders to take control of the match. Freshman
Lauren Degnan and junior
Paige Sparks won 8-0 in the first doubles spot, while sophomore
Kara Trowbridge and senior
Theresa Martini did the same in the second position. Senior Julie Einwecher and junior
Pattie McGinley cruised to an 8-1 win in the third doubles spot.
Immaculata continued to play well into singles play in winning all six matches. Degnan swept her first singles match 6-0, 6-0 and freshman
Nicole Burley won 6-0, 6-3 in the second spot. Trowbridge won by default in the third singles spot and freshman
Annaliese Kambouroglos moved to 4-0 in her career in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph in the fourth spot.
Einwechter defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-1 in fifth singles, and freshman
Jenna Fratterelli won 6-2, 6-2 in sixth singles.
The women's tennis team will move back out of conference play on Wednesday, September 18th when they travel to Penn State-Berks for a 3:30 p.m. start time.
